2026 Extended School Year Wrap Up!

The Extended School Year Program of Collier High School capped off another successful summer of joy, growth, & fulfillment. Here are just a few of the many achievements from our programs this summer!

• We welcomed 29 incoming freshmen and 7 new Collier students to the program, helping to introduce them to Collier and offering orientation activities so they have a smoother transition in September
• Approximately 30 hours of workouts completed by the Wellness track
• 1 student built up to hold a 5-minute, 15-second plank
• Improvement of overall physical fitness
• Wellness students kept up with the grind of going to the gym day after day, even adjusting to another location during renovations
• Confidence to work out in public
• Collier staff receive compliments often, both from the Planet Fitness staff and other patrons of the gym
• Partnerships with the Monmouth County Park System, Henry Hudson Rail Trail, Clean Ocean Action, and Two Sisters Farm
• Learning to become part of the wider community and contribute in a positive way
• JETs repaired and restored the pergola behind the HS
• Built 4 new planter boxes for the high school courtyard
• Built, weather-sealed, and delivered two new potting benches to the Achieve Program
• Built a new Hydroponics table for Ms. Chevalier
• Packed and moved classrooms for the HS, MS, and Transition
• Maintained courtyards and various landscaping around campus
• Students have gone out of their comfort zone to try new activities
• Peers are working to communicate with each other and make sure everyone is included
